Small Kitchen Large Problems

I have a very small kitchen with very little storage space. The cupboards that we do have are used by crockery and cleaning equipment so there is very little space for dry goods. We were keeping a lot of things on the sides, but it made the space look very cluttered and even smaller than it already was!

I know that the concept of side storage isn't new, but it really transformed the space from something that was cluttered and unpleasant to be in, into something that felt cohesive and spacious. I love natural tones and glass, as well as keeping plants in the kitchen - it gets the most light in the flat and they flourish in there! Another reason for using glass storage was buying in bulk to save on waste, and this is a lovely way to keep your produce without having to see ugly packaging and you are only keeping what you need in the kitchen - the rest can be stored elsewhere.

Investing in some lovely glass jars as well as recycling what you have is a good way of bringing new and old into a space, and a mix of materials such as the slate cheese board that they are stored on, not only makes cleaning easy but looks great too.
